In the area of environmental protection GSDA trains groups of people from the urban and rural community in how to protect our environment, how the city can be made more beautiful by planting, in schools we teach how plants are grown (right picture).

For one project we supported the planting of indigineous as well as exotic plants on the road sides of Nekemte.

We plan to start a community awareness program about the impact of plastic bag use and we will introduce a biodegradable bag for use in and around Nekemte.
